Giant Leopard Moth (Ecpantheria scribonia)

Above and below: My girlfriend Becky discovered a pair of these moths mating near some potted plants on our back patio. The female later deposited several hundred light green eggs. Above image shows a view of the male from above. Below image is a close-up of the male emitting a yellow drop of chemical defense from its thorax.
